Welcome to North Texas Hoops!

At North Texas Hoops we want to make better athletes, people, and futures. We work our athletes hard, so they can receive good discipline and work ethics for later in their lives. We believe that we can make power our of nothing. If you work hard, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.

"The Dream is yours, go and get it"

Our program is committed to the identification and recruitment of the best coach for the team.  The coach can be a player’s parent, or a non-parent coach.  In either case, the coach must demonstrate that they have a firm grip of basketball fundamentals and have the ability to instruct  and motivate the athletes to enhance their awareness and love of the game.  The Club will endeavor to recruit non-parent coaches when a strong candidate is available; however, that candidate must demonstrate the ability to make the time and emotional commitment to the players, team and Club over the course of the entire six month season, and, preferably, to move with the team through the 4 year program.

The Board will establish the overall program goals and objectives, as well as the processes and procedures as a foundation for the program.  The coach will have the flexibility to bring their individual coaching style and personality to the program, so long as they work within the general program guidelines, such as a focus on teaching fundamentals and team basketball.

The Club will encourage and make available to the coaches opportunities to develop their overall coaching and mentoring skills both throughout the season and while involved with the program.  It will be the responsibility of the Board, along with working with the Bellevue High School coaches, to develop quality coaching in all areas of the program.  This development will ideally come through a combination of coaching clinics, skills sessions and other venues, as well as through positive and constructive feedback to the coach when appropriate.

It is the responsibility of the Board to instill a process whereby open communication and feedback exists and is encouraged between parents, players, coaches and the Board to facilitate the development of the coaches and the program.  The Board will provide for an evaluation process that will encourage the development of the coaches, team framework, parental involvement, players and board members.
